With additional caption note: 'C'est par cette porte que Jésus-Christ fit son entrée le jour de Rameaux. — Elle est murée; car selon la légende musulmanne, c'est par elle qu'un vendredi, pendant la prière de midi, les chrétiens doivent reprendre la ville sainte. — Une légende analogue se retrouve à Constantinople, Bagdad et Damas; ces trois villes ont aussi leur porte d'Or murée. — Cette partie des murailles remonte traditionellement à Salomon.'
