View across fields towards the cluster of houses of the village of Khibbar, reached by Egerton on 10 July: 'In Khiebar there are twenty houses belonging to landowners, and thirty of forty more inhabited by their dependants and artizans. Across a little ravine, fronting the village, are two piles of stones cemeted together with mud, dedicated to the five elements, and (somewhat indistinctly) shown in the foreground of the accompanying photograph.
