Portrait of two seated men, with a basket containing a jar of oil placed in front of them: 'Tailies or oilmen belong to the Suder division of caste, and are located in most of the towns, and villages of Berar. They live principally by extracting oil from the seed of the tilli, kardi, alsi, karal, toli, and other cereals, which they retail at varying prices at most of the markets and fairs of Berar ... The dress of the Taili consists of the ordinary dhooti, and turban, and a blanket or cloth for the shoulders.' For a less faded copy of this photograph, see Photo 993(20).
