Oval image. Seated portrait of two men: 'The Dallals or brokers of Berar are located at all the cotton marts of Berar, and are believed to be more or less opulent; receiving as they invariably do a percentage upon all sales, or purchases effected by them ... In addition to cotton, sales of linseed, hides and other produce are effected by Dallals, upon which they receive a percentage ... The two of which the above is an illustration are located at Omraoti, and are believed to be the principal brokers of East Berar.' For another copy of this photograph, see Photo 993(22).
