General view, looking northwards, of the standing columns of the temple at Qertassi, overlooking the Nile, with Arab figures seated in the foreground: 'This is one of the most elegant ruins in the world, both on account of the variety of the capitals of its columns and its situation on an elevated rocky promontory, overlooking the river...' The temple was moved to New Kalabsha in 1960.
