Technical note: 'Taken by the wax-paper process in September, 1854, in bright sunshine; exposure twenty minutes; developed with gallic acid saturated solution. Lens by Ross; focal length twelve inches; diameter two and a half inches; diaphragm five-eighths of an inch.'
