Reproduced as a tinted lithograph in Charles Thomas Newton, 'A History of Discoveries at Halicarnassus, Cnidus and Branchidae' (2 vols., London, 1861), vol. 1, plate 38 (bottom): 'In the centre of the picture is represented the stage from which vertical views of the patterns of the pavement were obtained by photography. The figure standing nearly in the centre of the picture is Captain Towser, R.N., Commander of H. M. S. 'Gorgon'.'
