Six 'Lion' chairs, one with arms, the crest rails grooved and carved with the E.I.C. lion badge within a circle, in the centre. Lower rail turned with helical grooves. Turned front legs, square back legs. 1800-20.
Mahogany, with modern horsehair covered upholstery.
Originally used at East India House in Leadenhall Street: there were over ninety of these chairs made, in at least six slightly different patterns.
