This musket was made in 1846-47, as is indicated by its ‘L’ inspection codes. Markings on the buttplate indicate that it was issued from the Grand Arsenal, Bombay, between October and December 1859 (3rd quarter of the official year 1859[-60]). Stamped ‘14’ on side of butt. Ramrod missing. IOR L/R/7/382, #780-15.
