Family Cyprinidae
Original inscriptions: ‘Lalpore. Cabul. Jalalabad river. Stomach well-developed ½ length of body then attenuated but preserving stomachic structure rather more than length of baody then passing gradually into intestines which were gorged with muddy substance. Whole canal extends length of body. Bronchial rays 4. Perit. very black. To this is nearly allied a Pushub species which differs in having a very fleshy 2 lobed underlip - a very fleshy cartilaginous recurved upper one. and the length of canal only 3 ½ times greater than that of body. Lalpore. From Cabul river.’
