‘A Female Pangolin called by the Natives Badjawkeat eaw Sallou. It was caught near Meerut and must have been a full grown one as it had a young one with it and which was about one quarter the size of the Old one they both lived for some Days. The above are measured from the Old one when living and when dead. Five claws on each fore and hind foot, the middle Claw of each foot considerably the longest.’
