The Baha festival. Above, five villagers, including the priest, field priest and ‘godet’ (headman’s messenger) proceeding in a line carrying a winnowing-fan, a basket with three fowls and a red pot, one of them blowing on a buffalo horn and another beating a bowl-shaped hide-drum ‘(tamak).’ Below, the sacred grove, indicated by four trees, the priest sacrificing a fowl by feeding it on rice before cutting its throat on the edge of a battle-axe, the field priest holding a winnowing fan and a second fowl, a villager blowing a buffalo horn, another villager beating a ‘tamak.’
