The Baha festival. The party returning from the grove. The ‘naeke’ (priest) carrying a spray of sal tree blossom in his right hand and a winnowing fan under his right arm followed by two villagers, one with a basket, the other with a pot. A Santal girl, a spray of sal tree blossom in her hair, washing the priest’s feet. Below, three Santal women, with sprigs of sal tree blossom in their hair, dancing in a line, accompanied by three Santal drummers, two of them with a’ tumdak’,’ the third with a ‘tamak.’
