The Baha festival. The priest holding a sprig of sal tree blossom in his hand and carrying a winnowing fan is greeted by two small Santal women on his return from the grove, one of them touching his legs. To the right, two other members of his party, one with a basket on his head, the other, leaning on a stick and carrying a second basket shaped like an umbrella. Below, a bullock standing by a tree (indicated by a single line), a Santal holding its tail and a second Santal about to fell it with the butt-end of an axe.
