The constable visits Kama, who wears a black coat, and tells him about the Brahmin. The two of them go to the Brahmin who is seated on a chair. Kama asks for the boon of a child. The Brahmin tells him that if he worships Krishna, his wife will beget a child but warns him that he must then prove his faith in Krishna by sacrificing the child. Kama goes to his wife, Padmavati, and tells her the news.
