Inscribed on front in ink: ‘Plan of the interior of the room proposed for the reception of the Bust of the late Sir Stamford Rafles shewing the different positions of the Doors, Windows, and Bookcases etc.’ ‘etc.’ ‘etc.’ ‘by J.A. Marsh’. With a key to the plan. On back in ink in the hand of Lady Raffles: ‘Thornton right hand Side-Regents Street.’
Pen and ink and water-colour; 26.8 by 21 cm.
Note: A meticulously drawn plan of the room in the Singapore Institution prepared for the reception of the plaster cast of the bust of Raffles by Sir Francis Chantrey which was presented to Singapore by Lady Raffles in the early 1830s.
