Purchased March 1861.
Note: William Daniell exhibited 'The Bore rushing up the Hoogley during a north - wester, East Indies' at the Royal Academy of 1836, and an engraving from it was published in the ‘Oriental Annual’, 1837. The original sketch must have been made in Calcutta between 1786 and 1792.
