Cavalry troop riding through a village. 'This detachment left Mandalay by order of His Excellency Sir Frederick Robert, for service with the Wunthoo Expedition, travelling up the river as far as 'Katha' in one of the chartered steamers, and thence marching to Wunthoo. It accompanied Mr Burgess, the Commissioner, and, having made a forced march, reached Wunthoo in time to save the town from pillage by marauders, the 'Tswaba' of the place having taken to flight on the approach of the British force...It left Mandalay in December, 1886.'
