View looking along the valley towards the fort and a large chorten or stupa, with the tents of the British Mission pitched around the fortified position: 'The last post on the march to Gyang-tse. This fort was attacked on the early morning of the 6th June by a large party of Tibetans, who had come over the hills in the night and hidden themselves until dawn. The attack was a plucky one, but the Tibetans were dispersed with heavy loss. Colonel Younghusband was in the fort at the time, on his way down to consult with General Macdonald at Chumbi.'
