Showing two yaks harnessed to wooden carts, posed with a British officer, two Indian soldiers and Sikkimese porter: 'These great shaggy animals have never previously been used for harness work, and the experiment was looked on as a rash one. It turned out splendidly, and though the newly-harnessed yaks occasionally stampeded and brought destruction to the Ekka and its contents, they soon settled down and proved most useful.' Another copy (printed in platinum) at Photo 430/53 (23).
