Group portrait of pupils and teachers of the Kwangaiku Gijiku school, 'being one of those (now numerous) academies where the basis of education is on the foreign system ... established some few months since by a company of about thirty native princes ... as the name indicates 'for the diffusion of knowledge amongst their countrymen;' and though such a short time in existence it now numbers above 250 scholars...'
