Commentary by Aḥmad ibn ʻAlī al-ʻAsqalānī (أحمد بن علي العسقلاني , d. 1449) known as Ibn Ḥajar (ابن حجر) on his own Nukhbat al-fikar fī muṣṭalaḥ ahl al-athar (نخبة الفكر في مصطلح أهل الأثر; A Selection of Thoughts Concerning the Terminology of the Traditionists), a treatise on the science of prophetic traditions (علم الحديث).
