Copies of letters from Governor General Charles Canning to Sir James Outram (nos.1-6, & 24), Mr Colville Coverley Jackson (nos. 7-23, 25-29, & 31-32), and Sir Henry Lawrence (nos. 30, & 33-37). Numbered 1-37 with index and detailed summaries.
Contains loose research notes on slips of paper and an undated letter from Susannah Jane Wooden to Sir John Kaye, used as a bookmark, presumably during his research for his work History of the Sepoy War in India (London, 1864-1876), later revised as History of the Indian Mutiny by Kaye and Malleson.
