1. Copy letter to Colonel Phayre, 20 Mar 1856. 'Inviting private correspondence'.
2. Copy letter to Colonel Phayre, 16 Jul 1856. 'Does not wish for a Burmese Embassy – objections to it. Does not think Commissioner should go to Ava. General D’Orgoni’s pretensions. Dalhousie works should go on. Dissatisfied with Public Works Department'.
3. Copy letter to Colonel Phayre, 16 Jul 1856. 'Pegu to be held in future by Madras Troops. Suggests reduction of Troops. Too many Europeans in East Coast. Native Troops to be diminished. Cavalry might go from Madras. Barracks'.
4. Copy letter to Colonel Phayre, 19 Jan 1858. 'Captain Seymour and the ‘Pelorus’. King of Ava’s wish to send an Embassy to the Queen'.
