Copies of letters from Governor General Charles Canning to various correspondents. Nos. 1-15 were written from various places on tour, namely from Camp Piprod (6 Jan), Camp Jubulpore (11-18 Jan), Camp Sehora (26 Jan), Camp Sleemanabad (26-27 Jan), & Camp Baroon (15 Feb). Canning writes primarily from Calcutta from 22 Feb onwards, although some letters in Dec 1861 & Jan 1862 are written from Barrackpore, after the death of Lady Canning.
