File of telegrams from the Commander in Chief Sir Colin Campbell, Lord Clyde. The telegrams were removed from the Miscellaneous Telegrams sequence and filed separately into a post-binder. Also includes some telegrams from Chief of the Staff.
Telegrams are addressed primarily to the Governor General, Lord Canning, in Allahabad. Also includes telegrams addressed to: Colonel Richard Birch, Military Secretary to the Government of India; Lewin Bowring, Private Secretary to the Governor General; George Edmonstone, Secretary to the Foreign Department of the Government of India;
Telegrams are sent from the following places, and deal with day to day matters of the military campaign, including troop movements and positions of the rebels.
