Copies of letters sent by Charles Canning, primarily relating to military matters. Although letters are written primarily from Calcutta and occasionally Barrackpore, letters dated Jan-Apr 1860 were written on tour, and are addressed successively from Camp Delhi, Camp Raee?, Camp Girana, Camp Umritaur, Lahore, Camp Kalka & Simla. Letters dated Nov-Dec 1860 are also written on tour, and are addressed from Karagala and Benares. Letters numbered 85-114, with index and summaries, continued from previous volume Mss Eur F699/1/1/4/6. For letters sent to Charles Canning by many of these correspondents see Mss Eur F699/1/1/3/12.
