The volume comprises Aristotle's Historia animalium (folio 2r), De partibus animalium (folio 96r), and De Generatione animalium (folio 146r), in an anonymous Hebrew translation. The attribution of the translation to Shemu᾿el ha-Leṿi Abulafia is uncertain.

Provenance and Acquisition

Sir Hans Sloane (b. 1660, d. 1753), baronet, physician and collector. Purchased as part of the Sloane collection from Sloane's executors and incorporated into the newly founded British Museum in 1753.
