Letter from Sir Richmond Shakespear CB, Governor General's Agent for Central Asia, Camp, Shajehanpoor, to Mr Bowring, Private Secretary to the Governor General. Shakespeare submits his views on the restoration of the Gwalior Fort to Scindia, and of the occupation of the Mural [?] Cantonement. 22 October 1861.
Private Secretary's Correspondence number 10265, 10 March 1862. Letter from Dr E Impey, Post Mast General of Bombay, Camp Dholia. Reports that an interview with Holkar had bearing on the Governor General's policy.
Letter to the Marquis of Clanricarde, Carlton Terrace, London, from Lord Canning, Camp, Agra. Encloses newspaper cuttings showing official correspondence, or notices, that have been made public. Discusses policy in Oude, adoption policy, talookdars and their treatment. 6 December 1859.

Memorandum by Sir John Lawrence, sent in a letter from Sir C Wood, 26 July 1861 (Number 301). On Raja Tej Singh's claims that Sir H. Elliot guaranteed in writing that jagheers of the members of the Lahore Regency would be maintained, and that these chiefs were entitled to independent jurisdiction within their jagheers. 31 May 1861.
Letter from Colonel H.M. Durand, forwarding a copy of Colonel Kavanagh's letter of 17 February 1862, giving details of the French in Saigon, and in turn enclosing copies of letters received from M Protheroe, Secretary to the Governor, Bangkok and Saigon. States that France has little or no commerce, the military force necessary to maintain the position in Cochin exceeds any revenue; Cochin soldiers are burning junks, pillaging and murdering on their way to Cape St James, 11 March 1862.
