Letters addressed to 'Mr and Mrs Bakewell' (1963-66), and letters of similar date addressed to Harriet Bakewell, from au pair Brigitte Tretera (signed 'Gitte'). There is a supplementary letter/Christmas card [c 2000] addressed to Joan Bakewell, expressing personal support following the breakdown of her second marriage to Jack Emery.
The letters are written from an address in Valencia, with the following dates (letters to Harriet are not here listed):

In The Centre of the Bed (2003, pp. 191-2), Bakewell refers to 'Gitte' as 'the first and the best' of several au pairs.
