- (2). 1980. Beryl Cook; Sir Hugh Casson (Koestler Award Trust).
- (3). 1981. 'Midlands Tonight' running order and camera script (23 January); newspaper cutting (5 June) regarding appointment as BBC Arts Correspondent, Current Affairs, with a number of letters of congratulation; Howard Brenton; Tony Harrison (postcard: 'it's such a relief to have Aeschylus finally out of my bloodstream').
- (4). 1982. 'Programme Proposal from Joan Bakewell' (for short arts programme, nightly), with reply (26 April) from Christopher Capron, BBC; Joanna Drew (postcard).
- (5). 1983. Glenda Jackson ('Thank you for letting me air my grievances vis a vis the R.S.C.'); Proposal (February) by Bakewell for 'regular arts news on BBC2', with associated correspondence.
- (6). 1984. Philip Larkin (30 May and 21 June, re Poet Laureateship); Kingsley Amis.
