1. Joan Bakewell:
- 'For Jack / August 1973' (autograph, 2 sheets).
- 'Malta 1973' (autograph, 1 sheet).
- 'Meantime' (typed carbon, 1 sheet), dated 19 February 1974.
- 'I lit our fire on Polharn [sic] beach today' (typed, 2 sheets), dated 14 December 1975 ('Polharn beach' is probably 'Polhawn beach', not far from Cawsand, the seaside village where Bakewell owned a cottage - see Bakewell, The Centre of the Bed, pp. 230-2, and see also the poem below, 'In a Cornish Garden' by Harry Guest).
- 'Summer of 76' (typed, 2 sheets).
- 'Christmas Eve Devotions' (typed, 1 sheet), dated 24 December 1977.
- 'A Wife's Lament' (typed, 1 sheet), with two autograph drafts (4 sheets).
- 'Somewhere in the shell' (typed, with carbon copy, 2 sheets).
- 'Love Present' (two typed texts differing in the final stanza, 2 sheets), dated 20 February 1978.
- 'Hotel Room' (typed, with carbon copy, 2 sheets).
- 'Intruders' (typed, 2 sheets).
- 'The Return' (typed with carbon copy, 2 sheets; top copy signed 'Joan' and originally folded), dated 26 October 1984. With a further typed copy and carbon (2 sheets).
- 'She caught her breath at the song he sang' (typed, 1 sheet, annotated 'For Jack / 1985'). With auograph draft (4 small red sheets).
- Autograph notes (3 sheets).
2. Harold Pinter:
The texts appear to have been copy-typed.
- 'J' ['Always where you are'] (typed carbon, 1 sheet). See Bakewell, The Centre of the Bed, p. 147.
- 'All of that' (typed with carbon copy, 2 sheets). See Bakewell, The Centre of the Bed, pp. 216-7.
- 'Message' (typed carbon, 1 sheet previously folded), 'Harold Pinter' typed beneath the poem.
- 'The Doing So' (typed carbon, 1 sheet previously folded), 'Harold Pinter' typed beneath the poem.
- Notes in Bakewell's hand, dated 23 January 1975, side-heading 'Lunch'. Appears to record remarks by Pinter, and refers to the title of the play No Man's Land written in 1974 (comments on hyphen or no hyphen?).
3. Jack Emery:
- 'Wounds' (typed, 1 sheet) by 'je', dated 16 July 1973.
- Typed letter (2 sheets) from Emery to Bakewell, dated 'Thursday' [1975]: 'How do I begin the first "absence makes the heart grow fonder" letter?'
- 'Reunion' (typed, 1 sheet photocopy) by 'je', dated 23 April 1976. A prose text.
- Autograph poem, undated (1 sheet): 'If I should ever fall out of love with you'
4. Harry Guest:
