- Title:
- Joan Bakewell: Brought to Book (radio play: three drafts)
- Scope & Content:
-
Three unbound drafts:
- 'February version' (each scene separately paginated). Some re-numbering of scenes, but otherwise not annotated save for 'Version C: Feb 11' at the head of Scene 2.
- Draft annotated 'Since Revised' on the title-page. Further annotations to the script, and many pages are annotated at the head 'revised on line - Jan. 3'. A number of pages in the centre of the script have been typed onto the versos of 'Dawson Productions Limited' letterhead.
- Draft paginated pp. 1-59. Occasional annotation, generally in the form of asterisks and question marks. A comment on p. 12 ('Should these 2 scenes be back to back?') is not in Bakewell's hand, suggesting that none of the annotations are hers.
(Brought to Book is a play for radio about the judging of a literary prize, first broadcast BBC Radio 4, 7 October 2005.)
