The letters are mostly filled with news of his work as PA to the British Resident at Mysore, and preparing for the visit of the Prince of Wales to Mysore, stories of his social life and family news.
On folios 47-48 he mentions the arrest of Muhammad Ali, folio 67 has news of the Prince of Wales reception in Bombay, folio 70 has a comment on Gandhi and the riots in Bombay, and folios 79-81 has an account of the protests in Bangalore against the visit of the Prince of Wales.
The letters are illustrated with marginal drawings and caricatures.
