Letters (6 December, 1823 – 1 September, 1824) to G. Canning from Sir Charles Bagot whilst Bagot was in St Petersburg. Includes:
1. Letter (29 December, 1823) to G. Canning from Sir Charles Bagot along with an enclosed copy letter (26 December, 1823) to Lord Strangford from Sir Charles Bagot.
2. Letter (28 February, 1824) to G. Canning from Sir Charles Bagot along with an enclosed copy letter and two notes. Letter and notes numbered 1-3 and all are in French. Letter is dated (6 February, 1824) to ‘Mr Middleton’ from Count Nesselrode. Notes are both dated (28 February, 1824).
3. Letter (29 March, 1824) to G. Canning from Sir Charles Bagot along with an enclosed document (1798) ‘Extract of the Instructions to La Perouse’.
4. Letter (29 March, 1824) to G. Canning from Sir Charles Bagot along with an enclosed document, in French, (10 February, 1824) ‘Extract of a despatch from Baron [Miltity?] to The King of Prussia’.
5. Letter (17 April, 1824) to G. Canning from Sir Charles Bagot along with an enclosed copy letter, in French, (5 April, 1824) to [Sir Charles Bagot?] from Nesselrode and eight printed pages, in French, taken from an unidentified journal.
6. Letter (10 April, 1824) to G. Canning from Sir Charles Bagot with a message in cyper recorded between the lines of text.
7. Letter (23 June, 1824) to G. Canning from Sir Charles Bagot along with an enclosed copy of a note (10 June, 1824) from Count Nesselrode.
