Paper: 1) European handmade paper without labels, space between chain lines – 15 mm, 10 laid lines within 10 mm – 2nd half of the 17th century – 1st half of the 18th century [supposedly] (f. 8); 2) European handmade paper with an unidentified fragment of filigree "the coat of arms of Amsterdam" (this type of filigree occurs in Russian manuscripts and documents of the late 17th century – 1st half of the 18th century; space between chain lines – 25 mm, 10 laid lines within 10 mm (f. 9-17); 3) Russian machine-made paper with a stamp of the Rzhevskaia manufacture, Tver Province, the paper had been made in 1900, f. 19-33), d) Russian machine-made paper without labels or stamps lost during restoration (f. 1-7, 18, 34-56, 57-92, 132-146); e) Russian machine-made paper with a stamp of the K. Pechatkin manufacture with an image of a pigeon, St. Petersburg Governorate, had been made in 1912, f. 56, 93-131). [ref.: Дианова Т.В. Герб города Амстердама: каталог. Writing style: half-uncial script by several hands. Cyrillic numeric pagination (by a scribers) and late reader’s Arabic pagination.
Decoration: the fragment of the 18th century – headings and initials with vermilion, initial with floral ornament (f. 9), end-pieces with schematic ornament (f. 17); the parts of the 2nd half of the 19th century and 1900s-1910s – the initials, headpieces and end-pieces with vermilion, red and black inks; schematic headpieces (f. 19), headpieces with geometric ornament (f. 34, 78, 79, 91), headpieces with floral ornament (f. 93, 111, 132); initials with floral ornament (f. 34, 37, 81, 84, 87, 89, 93, 107, 132, 134, 140, 141, 146); end-piece in the so-called style Playing Text [игра текстом] – triangle-shaped objects (f. 109), schematic end-piece (f. 130), end-piece with floral ornament (f. 146).
The manuscript doesn’t have beginning, it includes Troparions and Canons to Saint Nicholas, martyr Varus, Zosima, Sabbatius and Herman of Solovki, Canon to the Mother of God, the Canon to the Cross and the Canon for the Dead, midnight service and prayers. Binding: 18th century, wooden binding, leather with tooling, clasp and a fragment of clasp. Enclosures: 1) discipling for kathisma reading, 2) akathist to the Mother of God and Christ. Manuscript-sammelband is compiled from texts, written in the 18th century, 2nd half of the 19th century, 1900s-1910s.
8º (size of the book block –165 mm x 105 mm, size of the book binding 180 mm x 111 mm, height of the binding – 47 mm). 2 enclosures: Enclosure I – 1 f. (210 mm x 161 mm), Enclosure II –1 f. (170 mm x 107 mm); 150 f. = л. 1-7 (empty) + 8-17 (18 century) + 18 (empty) + 19- 33 (1900s-1910s) + 34-55 (2nd half of the 19 century) + 56 (1900s-1910s) + 57-92 (2nd half of the 19 century) + 93-109 (1900s-1910s) + 110 (empty) + 111-130 (1900s-1910s) + 131 (empty) + 132-146 (2nd half of the 19 century). 2 f. (enclosures); Condition: satisfactory.
The manuscript was composed by the community of Old believers-pilgrims living in the Tomsk-Chulym taiga. The manuscript has been restored twice: early 20th century – the folio margins of the 18th century texts were backed (restoration place is unknown); 1910s – the manuscript was composed from different fragments, the text in the f.56 was restored (imitation of the scriber's handwriting), the binding is attached (apparently, the Taiga Skit of the Old Believers–Pilgrims).
