Writing style: half-uncial script by several hands. Cyrillic numeric pagination (scribers’). Decoration: headings and initials with vermilion and pink inks; headpiece with floral ornament (f. 23); schematic headpieces (f. 31, 49); schematic and added with the so-called style Playing Text [игра текстом] end-pieces – triangle-shaped objects (f. 70, 92, 107, 114). Menologium [Месяцеслов] is a church calendar with pointing of holidays, fasts, and days of saints for every month, beginning from September. The manuscript contains 2 types of Mesyatseslov: Folios 1-20 have a church calendar with religious and everyday instructions, folios 23-114 have liturgical instructions.
Binding: 1st half of the 19th century, wooden binding, leather with tooling, 1 clasp. There are paper fragments with text written in cursive writing (late 19th century – early 20th century) inside them. Readers’ notes. 3 enclosures: 1) fragment of the Old-Believer edition of Mesyatseslov; 2) fragment of a lunar calendar from the Old Believer edition; 3) fragment of a lunar calendar from the Old Be-liever edition. Sammelband is compiled from texts, written in the 2nd half of the 19th century (the text was restored in the 1950s-1970s by two handwritings) and 1910s-1920s.
8º (size of book block - 174 mm х 116 mm, binding size– 189 mm 110 mm, binding height - 28 mm). 3 enclosures: enclosure 1 – 2 f. (176 mm x 113 mm), enclosure 2 – 1 f. (170 mm x 107 mm), enclosure 3 – 2 f. (173 mm x 112 mm); 122 f. = f. I-IV + 1-20 (1910-1920s) + 21-22 (empty) + 23-25 (the text was restored in the 1950s-1970s) + 26-67 (the 2nd half of the 19th century) + 68-114 (the text was restored in the 1950s-1970s) + V-VIII. 5 f. (enclosures); Condition: satisfactory. According to the compiler’s pagination, the folio between f. 113 and 114 is absent (the folio was pulled out, because there is its fragment closely sewed to the book block (presumably)). The manuscript was composed in the community of Old believers-pilgrims living in the Tomsk-Chulym taiga. The manuscript has traces of old restoration: breaks were glued (f. 33-34, 44, 46, etc) including paper with the text written in cursive writing in the late 19th century – early 20th century.
