Paper: 1) Russian machine-made paper without labels (f. 115-129); 2) Russian machine-made paper with a stamp of the Dal'skii manufacture (location unknown), had been made in 1850, 1861 (f. 86-129); 3) Russian machine-made paper with a stamp of Prince N.Gagarin’s manufacture, Yaroslavl Governance, had been made in 1851–1876 (f. 1-85, 130-143). [ref.: Клепиков С.А. Филиграни и штемпели на бумаге русского и иностранного производства XVII-XX вв. М., 1959. № 56, 217]. Writing style: half-uncial script by several hands. Cyrillic numeric pagination (scribers’ and composer’s).
Decoration: headings, initials with vermilion; schematic head-piece (f. 8); head-piece with floral ornament (f. 42); initials with floral ornament – f. 11, 17, 19, 32, 42); end-piece in the so-called style Playing Text [игра текстом] – triangle-shaped objects (f. 85); lacunas for headings and initials (f. 107-108). The manuscript contains homilies for monks and laity (essays of Maximus the Confessor, Gregory of Nyssa, and Gregory of Nazianzus, the Kormchaia Book [Book of the Pilot // Кормчая], the Catechism etc), a fragment of the translated Old Russian story The Legend of Twelve Dreams of Marmer The Tsar [Сказание о 12 снах царя Мамера] and an Old Believer essay of the 1810s "A short declaration what our separation is" [Краткое объявление, в чем наше состоится разделение с вами//Kratkoe ob"iavlenie, v chem nashe sostoitsia razdelenie s vami] [ref. to: Мальцев А.И. Старообрядческие беспоповские согласия в XVIII – начале XIX в.: проблема взаимоотношений. Новосибирск, 2006. Приложение, № 228]. Binding: 19th century, wooden binding, leather, textile, 2 clasps. Readers’ notes, pictures, textile bookmarks. The sammelband is compiled from the texts written in 1850s-1860s; 1850s-1880s.
8° (size of book block – 174 mm х 110 mm, binding size – 187 mm х 111 mm, binding height – 35 mm); 144 f. = f. 1-26 (1850s-1880s) + 27-31 (empty) +32-85 (1850s-1880s) + 86-87 (empty) + 89-109 (1850s-1860s) + 110-114 (empty) + 115-117 (1850s-1860s) + 118 (empty) + 119+127 (1850s-1860s) + 128-129 (empty) + 130-143 (1850s-1880s) + I; Condition: satisfactory. The manuscript was acquired [supposedly] by the community of Old believers-pilgrims living in the Tomsk-Chulym taiga. The sammelband has traces of restoration and/or binding manufacturing (folios with calendar and technical notes are glued up to the boards, the spine was strengthened with cloth), restoration date – 1st half of the 20th century, place of restoration – Tomsk-Chulym Skit of Old Believers-pilgrims.
