Paper: sheets of school notebook (f. 1-29) and ledger (f. 30-98, 101). Russian machine-made paper without labels (f. 97-100). The typographic text on the sheets of ledger is glued up or painted over with pencil. Writing style: half-uncial script by several hands. Cyrillic numeric pagination (scriber’s).
Decoration: headings and initials with red inks and red pencil. The manuscript contains texts about monastic life (from the religious and protreptic anthologies The Philokalia Book [Добротолюбие] and «Alfa and Omega» [Альфа и Омега], Acts and Epistles of the Apostles, interpretations of «The Song of Songs» by Theodoret of Cyrus, essays of Anastasius Sinaita, Isaac of Nineveh, and John Chrysostom, essays «the Spiritual Alphabet» [Алфавит духовный] of Isaiah Kopinsky, Metropolitan of Kiev and Galicia, and Molitvennye stikhosloviia [Prayer Poems] of Saint Dimitry of Rostov, extracts from the Canons to Saint Nicholas and the canon «for those who do charity» [за творящих милостыню], and church hymns to the ikon of The Mother of God «Ot navedeniia pechali» [Of sorrow // От наведения печали]. Without a cover. Readers’ notes. 16º (manuscript size – 114 mm х 74 mm); 101 f; Condition: satisfactory. The manuscript was made in the community of Old believers-pilgrims living in the Tomsk-Chulym taiga.
