Paper: Russian machine-made paper without labels. Writing style: half-uncial script. Cyrillic numeric pagination (reader’s). Decoration: headings and thin initials with inks and colored pencils. The manuscript contains an Old Believer essay on heretics and heretic baptism, based on The Gospel According to Luke and Matthew, laws of Ecumenical councils, and Kormchaia Book [Book of the Pilot // Кормчая], essays of John Chrysostom, Maximus the Greek, and Fedor the deacon - an Old Believer writer of the 17th century, and others. Without a cover.
Enclosures: 1) a marginal note about baptism made by Maksim Vasilievich Belosludtsev [Максим Васильевич Белослудцев], Vasiliy the monk [инок Василий], resident of the Pilgrim’s skit located on the banks of the Iksa river in Bakcharsky District. He was arrested in 1933 and released after a few months. He settled in Tomsk-Chulym skits and died in 1945-1947.; 2) a figured cutting form a newspaper.
The manuscript consists of 4 unsewn notebooks, 8º (notebook #1– 181 mm х 111 mm; notebook #2– 180 mm х 111 mm; notebook #3 - 180 mm х 110 mm; notebook #4 – 175 mm х 110 mm). 2 enclosures: #1 - 1 f. (65 mm x 156 mm), enclosure #2 - 1 f. (48 mm x 50 mm); 48 f. 2 f. (enclosures); Condition: satisfactory. The manuscript was made in the community of Old believers-pilgrims living in the Tomsk-Chulym taiga.
