Photocopied word processed draft, revised by hand, comprising:
- Title page (typed), Contents (autograph), and epigraph (typed, Singer). The Contents lacks 'Intermission', and Chapter 1 is here titled 'Dealing with the Devil', and Chapter 5 is here 'Dr Gyggle'. The 'Epilogue' appears in the Contents but there is no text for it with this draft.
- 'Prologue' (pp. 1-15).
- 'Chapter 1 / Dealing with the Devil' (pp. 15-36 - NB there are two pp. 15).
- 'Chapter Two / Crossing the Abyss' (pp. 37-66).
- 'Chapter Three / The Fat Controller' (pp. 67-111). The typed title of the chapter is 'Dealing with the Devil' - this has been struck-through in pencil and 'The Fat Controller' has been added by hand.
