Two sets of postcard-sized photographs, together with an identifying note (not in Will Self's hand) indicating that the photographs are background research. The photographs are of urban settings in London. They comprise:
- 21 colour photographs. The subjects of some have been circled with a black marker pen. Locations not indicated, but a street sign for 'Prescot Street' is visible in one photograph.
- 31 black and white / sepia photographs. Locations not indicated. Most photographs are of a residential area, largely 'roofscapes' taken from a high viewpoint.
