Earl Henry, son of the king of Scotland, grants Uhtred de London 140 acres at the Hangre of Tottenham, Middlesex, and the half holm which Engelram held, and four tree trunks for his fire from the Earl's wood at Tottenham, and ten swine free from pasturage dues, to be held for a rent of one silver mark paid yearly at Michaelmas.
Witnessed by his father David I (r. 1124–1153), King of Scotland; Hugh de Moreville (d. 1162); Robert de Brus (b. c. 1070, d. 1141); Robert Foliot (d. c. 1150); and many others.
Originally affixed with a seal, now lost.

Provenance:
Sir Robert Bruce Cotton (b. 1571, d. 1631), 1st baronet, antiquary and politician. Cotton’s collection was augmented by his son, Sir Thomas Cotton (b. 1594, d. 1662), 2nd baronet, and his grandson, Sir John Cotton. Sir John Cotton (b. 1621, d. 1702), 3rd baronet: bequeathed the entire Cotton collection of books and manuscripts to trustees ‘for Publick Use and Advantage’, 12 and 13 William III, c. 7. Formed one of the foundation collections of the British Museum in 1753.
