- Includes: copies and typescripts of interviews; copies of school reports; biographical entries in Contemporary Authors and Contemporary Dramatists; a photocopy of a biographical note written by Simpson and sent to art student Les Coleman in the late 1960s; “Making Nonsense of Nonsense”, a self-interview by Simpson for issue 21 of Transatlantic Review (April 1966); emails with Tony Jones (school historian and librarian, Emanuel School); and ‘N. F. Simpson: An Appreciation’ by Ann McGivering, University of Manchester, 1981. The essay includes extended analysis of A Resounding Tinkle (in both its one-act and two-act versions) and the subsequent BBC2 series scripts published by Faber as Some Tall Tinkles, and an original interview with Simpson conducted in December 1980.
