Various autograph notes and 'post-it' notes (attached to single sheets) subdivided into 17 parts according to the section of the book to which they refer, as well more generally sub-divided (e.g. 'Tropes', 'Observations', 'Images', 'Ideas'). For further 'post-it' notes, see Add MS 89203/2/4/146.
The file also includes newspaper cuttings and some e-mail messages (including Nicholas Adams to Self, 5 Nov 2007, about problems at the Small World ride at Anaheim Disneyland caused by the increase in weight of the average American adult).
Of further interest, fragments of a typed transcript of Self's interview of the artist Marc Quinn - these pages have been used as scrap paper and thus appear as the versos of some of the sheets onto which 'post-it' notes have been attached. The text of the interview (incomplete) has been heavily copy-edited by Self in pencil.
