• letters to The Times Literary Supplement, the Foreign Secretary, and Hugh Walpole asking to help P.G. Wodehouse to leave France, and one reply from Walpole, 1940-1945;
• letter from J. Derek Grimsdick to Townend regarding P.G. Wodehouse's writing, 15 Aug 1950;
• letters to and from Townend regarding permissions to quote from various sources in Performing Flea, to and from various people including Evelyn Waugh, John F Leeming, Denis Mackail, Dorothy L. Sayers, Sax Rohmer, and the editors of various magazines and newspapers, 1952;
• letter from Theodosia Wodehouse (wife of Norman Wodehouse, cousin of P.G.) regarding Performing Flea and the reaction to the Berlin Broadcasts in Britain, 1952.
