Contains docketed sets of papers numbered 26 to 50, originally in one bundle labelled ‘No. 1. Military Secretary’s Office: Miscellaneous Letters to the Governor General Nos. 1 to 100’. Consists of an original letter sent either directly to the Military Secretary, Charles Canning, or Lady Canning, with any additional enclosures or copies of replies. Information includes name of the writer or recipient of the initial letter, the position and location of the sender or recipient, the date the letter was written, the date it was received, the date it was answered, and a summary of the letter.
