Arabic version of a treatise on the use of the Persian Treatise in Twenty Chapters on Knowledge of the Astrolabe (رساله بیست باب در معرفت اسطرلاب) by Naṣīr al-Dīn Muḥammad ibn Muḥammad al-Ṭūsī (نصير الدين محمد بن محمد الطوسي; d. 1274).
The treatise is, according to the preface (f. 47r, line 7), divided into twenty chapters (باب). A further two chapters (Twenty-One and Twenty-Two), however, appear on the subsequent folios (57r-60v).
A blank space has been left for a diagram at f. 54v.
Begins (f. 47r, lines 2-5):
الحمد لله على جزيل نعمائه وجميل عطائه وصلى الله على أكرم أصفائه وأشرف أنبيائه محمد وآله وأصحابه وأبنائه
وبعد فإن الإمام المحقق الهمام المدقق رئيس أفاضل العلماء مفيد أعيان الحكماء نصير الملة والدين محمد الطوسي
قدس الله روحه وأجزل فتوحه إملاء رسالة في كيفية العمل بالأسطرلاب جزيلة الفوائد جليلة العوائد إملاءها
بالفارسية فنصرت عنها طباع العرب ...
Ends (f. 60v, lines 16-18):
... بطن الحوت كوكب منير ويقال لها الرث (؟) على جنب المرأة المسلسلة يسمى بذلك
لأن العرب تصورت السمكة سطرين عليهما كواكب خفية أحاطتا بصورة سمكة عظيم تحت بحر النافة
يقع هذا الكوكب على موضع بطنها والقمر يحاذيه ولا يقارنه
