Kate Calcot. 16 Jan 1978 (postmark), undated autograph letter (1 sheet) with envelope; 19 Jan 1978 (postmark), undated typed letter (1 sheet, James Catto & Co Limited letterhead) with envelope; 25 Jan 1978 (postmark), autograph letter dated 'Tues evening' (1 sheet) with envelope; 8 Feb [1978], autograph letter (1 sheet) with envelope; 13 Feb 1978 (postmark), bespoke Valentine's Day card with envelope; 29 Mar 1978, autograph letter (1 sheet); 5 Apr 1978 (postmark), autograph postcard from Cornwall; 18 Apr 1978 (postmark), undated autograph letter (2 sheets); 9 May 1978 (postmark), undated autograph letter (1 sheet).
- (3). Jonathan Carr. Printed e-mail messages (7 Feb and 14 Mar 2001). The first message comprises a long text (14 pp.) entitled 'The Blood Exchange'. On the verso of this printed message is a series of pencil notes headed 'Twig', i.e. notes relating to a recorded interview with the English model and actress Twiggy.
- (4). John Chancellor. Autograph letter (28 Jan 1989) to Self, and two letters (9 and 12 Jul 1990) to 'Katy', Self's first wife and Chancellor's daughter.
- (5). Mike Checksfield. Autograph letters (1982, 25 May and 1 Nov 1987, [1989] and 1992-95), a postcard (1990), and a birthday card. Together with three typed copy letters [1994] from Self (from Knodishall, Suffolk).
- (6). Tom Cheesman. Typed letter, Swansea, 1 Feb 2000. Conference invitation, from a fellow Oxford graduate, to participate in 'Transnational Imagination: Writing Diasporas'.
- (7). Louise Clark. Autograph letter (no date): 'All the prints are ready to sign [...] The first showing of the project will be at the Eagle Gallery in October then a tour of galleries in America.'
- (8). Peter Clarke. Autograph letters (2000-04) and a copy letter (30 Jan 2001) from Self. Clarke's letters include information about Peter Self, his friend and contemporary.
- (9). Robert Clarke. Typed letter (1 Nov 1998) referring to academic research, and Self's reply (3 Nov).
- (10). Val Cloake. Typed letter (17 Feb 2004). 'So it was you who exploded the eiderdown in Creek Cottage'. Letter refers to Francesca [Wilson]: 'When I stayed at Creek Cottage it was owned by Francesca, an elderly lady living a bohemian life in London. Was she the friend of your father's?' - (11).Terence Conran. Typed letter (11 Jan 2002). 'Thanks so much for Labyrinths and Against Nature.'
- (12). Jilly Cooper. Typed letter (23 March 2000). Disappointed that someone else is to interview her for The Sunday Independent.
- (13). Vicky Coren. Autograph letter (18 Feb 1996). Refers to the death of her (Austro-Hungarian) grandmother.
- (14). Jim Crace. Typed fax from Self (7 Aug, year not indicated). 'The only current death book I have to add to your useful little bibliog is this Dollimore thing, Death Desire and Loss in Western Culture.'
- (15). Janine Creaye. Six typed letters from Creaye (28 Jan and 30 Oct 1998, 1 Feb 1999, 3 Aug, 31 Aug and 31 Oct 2000), and two copy letter replies from Self (24 Jan 1999, 11 Aug 2000). Together with: colour information sheet about an exhibition of Creaye's portraits (including Self) at a gallery in Trivandrum, Southern India (Dec 2000); six mounted colour photographs of her pastel portraits of Self, and a further mounted photograph of a drawing of multiple 'Selfs' seated at a table (message on the verso).
