Music manuscript material, largely autograph, of varying provenance:
- (ff. 1-2) 'Afternoon Tea' [1929]. Autograph setting for voice and piano, words by Charlotte Mew. Black ink (1 bifolium), signed.
- (ff. 3-4) 'Robin Hood's Song' (1936). Autograph score for voice and piano. Black ink (1 bifolium). Inscribed on front page: 'for Stella / Christmas 1936 / from Michael'. Noted at the foot of the final page: 'from the children's opera "Robin Hood"'. The manuscript was found tipped inside the score of Symphony No. 1 (MS Mus. 1757/2).
- (ff. 5-6) Concert programme for a performance of Robin Hood (by David Pennyless and Michael Tippett) given by New Malden Co-operative Musical Society at St. James' Church-Hall, Martin Way, Merton, 30 Mar 1940.
- (ff. 7-8) Undated autograph letter from Tippett to 'Rusty' (copyist) regarding ff. 9-10 ('Fantasy Sonata').
- (ff. 9-10) Piano Sonata No. 1 ('Fantasy'). The first page of music in two formats, lettered 'A' and 'B' in red pencil on the versos. Autograph, black ink. Both signed with annotations on the verso. Dedication on both to: Francesca Allison. Copyright 1941 by Schott & Co. Ltd.
- (ff. 11-31) A Child of Our Time. Choral part (manuscript copy), black ink [1944]. Title-page and pp. 1-35 (Nos. 1-17, choruses only). Together with copies of manuscript copies for Nos. 19 and 25.
- (ff. 32-6) Anthem: Plebs Angelica. Autograph score, black ink, signed. Outer bifolium and pp. 1-6. 'For the choir of Canterbury Cathedral / Jan. 1944'.
- (ff. 37-70) Fantasia Concertante on a Theme of Corelli. 'Commissioned for the Edinburgh Festival of 1953'. Autograph full score, black ink and pencil, signed. Title-page and pp. 1-63. Includes revised part on single stave (f. 62).
- (ff. 71-91) Piano Sonata No. 3. Movements 1-3 (Schott), ownership signature of Paul Crossley on each (1972-73). 1st movement inscribed by Tippett: 'To Paul after the magnificent first performance (from memory!) at the Bath Festival 1973'. Pencil annotations throughout.
- (ff. 92-114) Piano Sonata No. 4. Incomplete copy manuscript, 3rd and 4th movements. Outer bifolium (with note in red ink addressed to Paul [Crossley]) enclosing pp. 1-11, and pp. 35-64. Black ink, annotations in pencil and in red ink.
- (ff. 115-6) Two pencil sketch leaves (one annotated in red ink) for The Mask of Time (1984).
- (f. 117) One pencil sketch leaf for setting of Shelley, 'The Triumph of Life' from The Mask of Time. Notated in short score with words for tenor.
- (f. 118) Pencil sketch leaf for New Year (1989). Signed in black ink.
- (f. 119) Pencil sketch leaf (work unidentified).
